Course Description:

A review session conducted every month is made available to physicians. Detailed case reviews are presented for physicians and specialty physicians to analyze the care of the injured patients.

Injury specific educational power point presentations. 

Physicians use the EAST guidelines for in-services on current evidence-based practices.

Specialized speakers are made available pertinent to case specific concerns. 

Peformance improvement process concerns are indentified during these sessions and promoted for addtional educational opportunites

(i.e Trauma Grand Rounds.)

Target Audience:

Napa/Solano Trauma Surgeons and Trauma Liaisons.  Physicians that are consulted to provide their expertise to trauma patients when needed. Other teams include but are not limited to: Nurses, Pharmacists, PT, OT, RT, HBS,

Objectives:

1. Distinguish --priorities of care, diagnostics of injuries and acuity, resource availability and competency in order to reduce morbidity and mortality of trauma patients 

2. Identify --new concepts and approaches to delivering care to all trauma patients

3. Reduce morbidity and mortality rates in the treatment of trauma patients by improving trauma patient
