As a result of attending this presentation, participants will be better able to:

  1. Describe current evidence based community standards in the care of cancer patients, including: bilogy of disease, diagnostic technique, pretreatment evaluation, staging, treatment strategy, rehabilitation prognosis and support
  2. Continually develop and monitor facility standards of care among cancer specialists
  3. Discuss and provide  case management feedback on individual cancer patient cases
  4. Identify cultural/linguistic issues which may present barriers and/or opportunities in the care experience.

Tumor and Cancer Board (Faculty: Fan Zhang, MD, and Irwin Lee, MD):  Second Friday and Fourth Thursday of each month from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Support Services Building, Second Floor, Conference Room #20.  As a result of attending this presentation, participants will be better able to: (1) describe current evidence based community standards in the care of cancer patients, including: biology of disease, diagnostic technique, pretreatment evaluation, staging, treatment strategy, rehabilitation prognosis and support;  (2) continually develop and monitor facility standards of care among cancer specialists;  (3) discuss and provide case management feedback on individual cancer patient cases; and (4) identify cultural/linguistic issues which may present barriers and/or opportunities in the care experience.

CME credit will be granted to participants who attend the conference and complete the evaluation survey.
