DSA 2023 / Breaking Barriers: Communicating Effectively with our Patients with Mental Illness
Current Situation: Communication with patients with mental illness can be challenging and result in inequities in health care for this patient population as well as increased stress for health care teams.
Desired Practice: Providing physicians with improved skills for communication with these patients will result in better health outcomes, more equitable care, and less stress for health care providers and teams.
