IDGR: PrEP Bootcamp: The Science of HIV Prevention

Learning Objectives

After participating in this CME activity, the learner will be able to:

Participant will be able to discuss the science behind trusted HIV preventions such as Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP), Treatment as Prevention (TasP) and condoms, and compare the data to that supporting the use of Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP).
Participant will be able to discuss PrEP effectiveness "in the real world" and here at KPSF to increase confidence in counseling and recommending PrEP to at-risk populations at KPSF, including utilization of the eConsult page for PrEP referrals.
Participants will be able to identify patients in a variety of clinical settings including emergency room, urgent care, hospital and ambulatory clinic who would benefit from PrEP, and identify underserved populations that deserve extra effort in promoting this important preventive medicine in their communities.
Participants will become part of our efforts to get to zero new HIV infections in San Francisco!
