NSA 03/19/2020 HBS VJO COVID 19 for the Hospitalist
According to the WHO, recovery time appears to be around two weeks for mild infections and three to six weeks for severe disease. Patients who meet the clinical criteria for patients under investigation or specific definitions for suspect cases, should undergo testing for SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19), in addition to testing for other respiratory pathogens.
The novel coronavirus is currently the leading infectious concern worldwide. There is limited information on the current virus and physicians have requested a consolidated platform to learn about the scientific articles that discuss COVID-19 disease. Hospitalists will become familiar with the clinical presentation of COVID-19 disease and current management strategies.
Target Audience
All Hospitalists and providers involved in patient care.
Learning Objectives
1. Recognize key characteristics of COVID-19 and its epidemiological origins.
2. Identify CT findings of the disease.
