NSA 05/11/22-4th Annual Faculty Development - Equitable Learning Climate
According to a 2014 systematic review and meta-analysis, 59.4% of trainees experienced at least on form of harassment or discrimination during training. An internal survey of the KPNSFMRP residents noted 27% of resident physicians don't feel that written evaluations provide useful feedback and 33% of residents noted that preceptors don't determine a resident's preferred manner of receiving feedback (KPNSFMRP, Feb 2023)
Target Audience
Inviting all faculty and health professionals who work with medical residents, medical students, nursing students and other professional students to join us for an afternoon of reflection and discussion toward more Equitable Learning Spaces.
Learning Objectives
1) Identify and respond to learner mistreatment by patients in the clinical learning and practice environment.
2) Employ strategies to create equitable feedback processes, including written evaluations and feedback conversations with learners
3) Have a framework ensuring learners are practicing in a safe environment to address the complete needs of our patient population and community members.
