NSA 05/14/2020 KP NSA Faculty Development

Vallejo, AR US
May 14, 2020

Attending physicians across multiple departments in the Napa Solano Service Area voluntarily teach residents in a variety of specialties: family medicine, podiatry, surgery, and others.  Most physicians do not have formal faculty development to inform their teaching practices.  The aim of this conference is to build confidence in teaching in the clinic and hospital settings; provide timely, specific feedback to promote learner growth; and promote physician involvement in community-based interventions.

Target Audience

Physicians, nurse midwives, nurse practitioners and physician assistants who are involved in teaching medical/surgical residents &/or nursing or medical students.

Learning Objectives

1.           Understand impact of COVID-19 on local community from health professions student perspective.

2.           Recognize the importance of timely, effective feedback, and comfortably use skills learned to provide feedback to learners in person and via Medtrics.

3.           Recognize the value of incorporating the humanities in the practice and art of medicine.
