Learning Objectives
As a result of this CME activity, participants should be better able to:
- Define the facility policies and procedures, JCAHO regulations, and the California state laws that govern procedural sedation.
- Administer procedural sedation agents according to recognized clinical practice standards.
- Recognize adverse outcomes and determine strategies for patient management.
- Perform appropriate rescue breathing techniques.
- Demonstrate patient monitoring and use of equipment used during procedural sedation.
- Demonstrate proficiency in skills and knowledge in compliance with Kaiser Permanente credentialing standards.
