Learning Objectives
Discuss epidemiology of penicillin allergy and comorbidities associated with PCN-allergic designation in EMR
Identify different tools that have been studied to identify low-risk individuals who may benefit from penicillin allergy testing
Recognize standard of care for PCN allergy testing (oral amoxicillin challenge) and recent studies on need for skin testing prior to oral challenge, including how testing might be trialed in settings outside of the allergists office (e.g. pep office or hospital wards)
Review of similar efforts at comparable institution - KP in Southern California, as well as our institutions similar numbers of pen allergic if obtainable
