Learning Objectives

At the end of this activity, the learner will be able to:

  1. Improve the wellness of peri-operative staff in the Main OR and on L+D by sharing and
    learning about the day to day work and stresses among staff who are responsible for patient
    or equipment handoffs to each other
    2. Encourage a culture of empathy and quality in the peri-op teams in order to focus on
    achieving Highly Reliable Surgical Teams
    3. Review the experience of patients who are coming to the hospital for surgery in order to
    emphasize that this is a highly unusual and stressful day even though the peri-op staff are
    smoothly performing their daily responsibilities.
