Heart failure (HF) affects nearly 6 million adults in the United States each year. In terms of mortality rates, males have a 46% mortlaity rate due to HF while females have 54%.

Currently we treat each aspect of metabolic syndrome with separate medications but we are not integrating dietary recommendations and intermittent fasting into the treatment. 

Diet and fasting can help all aspects of metabolic health equally. 

Currently, physicians do not treat chronic disease. They treat the "symptoms" of chronic disease. High LDL, high blood glucose, high blood pressure are all symptoms of mitochondrial dysfunction and insulin resistance. We are not addressing the primary pathologies.

Our Obesity epidemic is worsening in Northern California and especially in the Central Valley. 

Obesity is a hormonal, not a caloric imbalance. 

There is significant variability in risk assessment and treatment of cardiovascular disease in women who are peri-menopausal and post-menopausal.
