1. to teach about the language of music and draw parallels between elements of music and our spoken word (in patient care

2. to discuss how we can use music at home or at work, engaging certain areas of our brains connected to empathy, to set a mood for ideal communication, and to help us reach a flow state

3. to discuss group music to facilitate a sense of community and shared expression

4. to discuss specific musical recommendations that we can make for our patients with anxiety, movement disorders, and chronic pain to help ease their burdens
