DESCRIPTION
This session allows for a multidisciplinary approach to provide trauma related educational opportunities pertinent to the patients that are treated at KP Vacaville. As a designated Level II trauma center at KP Vacaville, there is a demonstrated need to enhance the knowledge base and clinical management of trauma patients with less-lethal weapon injuries and increase the knowledge on current practices involving patient care.
OBJECTIVES:
1. Discuss trauma database with regards to severe head injury patients treated at Kaiser Vacaville and south Sacramento.
2. Describe current literature focusing on outcomes and ICP monitoring.
3. Manage ICP monitoring based on current guidelines discussed to make a difference in outcome at Kaiser level II trauma centers.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
Napa/Solano Trauma Surgeons and Trauma Liaisons, Physicians that are consulted to provide their expertise to trauma patients when needed.
