Follow new and evolving guidelines in Peri-operative complication prophylaxis (DVT, Infection -surgical site, pneumonia, UTI).
Be able to communicate with colleagues. Uncertainty of a frozen section. OR availability or access. Access to appropriate peri-operative testing and peri-operative care. Best practices and solutions to problems will be discussed among colleagues.
Target Audience:
All staff from General Surgery Department in Vacaville.
Objectives:
1. Identify ways to minimize the risk of surgery.
2. Identify risk factors for the complications discussed.
3. Manage complications & unanticipated outcomes that occur in surgical management measured under NSQUIP.
4. Reduce peri-operative complications.
5. Effectively manage unusual and or complicated cases.
