OBJECTIVES:

As a result of this session, participants should be better able to:

  1. Recognize that health disparity gaps are not eliminated, when there is equal access to health care.
  2. Incorporate the skills developed from this curriculum to interact with patients and reduce health disparities.
  3. Recognize that cultural humility rather than cultural competency is the gold standard.
  4. Use self reflection and recognition of implicit bias to develop an approach towards having patient interactions that increase trust and improve health outcomes.
