SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:  

As a result of this session, participants should be better able to:

1. Review the DSM 5 eating disorder categories.
2. Discuss the medical complications for malnutrition.
3. Initiate the medical workup for a child/adolescent with possible eating disorder.
4. Recognize when it's appropriate to make a referral for a child/adolescent with an eating disorder.

SERIES OBJECTIVES:

1. Associate current literature, standards, therapies, and treatments to the management and care of in-hospital and critical pediatric patients.
2. Utilize best practices identified in conference discussions in caring for pediatric inpatients.
3. Integrate information on appropriate diagnostic measures in the management of pediatric patients.
