SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
As a result of this session, participants should be better able to:
- Review the DSM 5 eating disorder categories.
- Discuss the medical complications for malnutrition.
- Initiate the medical workup for a child/adolescent with possible eating disorder.
- Recognize when it's appropriate to make a referral for a child/adolescent with an eating disorder.
SERIES OBJECTIVES:
- Associate current literature, standards, therapies, and treatments to the management and care of in-hospital and critical pediatric patients.
- Utilize best practices identified in conference discussions in caring for pediatric inpatients.
- Integrate information on appropriate diagnostic measures in the management of pediatric patients.
