SERIES OBJECTIVES:

By the end of this CME activity, participants should be better able to:

1. Order lab monitoring before and after RAI treatment according to standardized practice guidelines. 
2. Apply evidenced -based standard of care (eg. using TWM staging) for staging and therapies for thyroid tumors. 
3. Effectively communicate with both radiology and endocrine practitioners in staging tumors and providing optimal treatment plans. 
4. Determine guidelines from thyrogen testing vs. whole body iodine scan. 
5. Identify barriers (systems, communication, etc.) influencing management of thyroid cancer patients. 
6. Identify and address culture, health literacy, language, and implicit bias, in caring for patients and provide resources to address concerns.
