TOPIC: Disparities in Eating Disorder Diagnosis and Treatment
Educational Objectives: By the end of the activity, participants will be able to:
- Discuss and apply the knowledge base as appropriate to provide effective, cost-conscious, consistent, patient centered care, as it applies to psychiatry patients from diverse cultures, groups and communities.
- Identify the appropriate work-flow and ownership as it applies to psychiatry.

- Identify disparities in eating disorder diagnosis and treatment among various minoritized populations.
- Explore stereotypes of patients with eating disorders and how they may contribute to clinical bias.
- Develop ways to combat stereotypes of patients with eating disorders via cultural considerations.
- Recognize importance of diversity and inclusion in eating disorder research.
