Kaiser Permanente San Jose CME Mission Statement

The Kaiser Permanente Greater San Jose Area (KPGSJA) is committed to providing high-quality, safe, caring, innovative, equitable, inclusive, affordable, and integrated professional medical care to the members and communities we serve. The mission of our Kaiser Permanente Greater San Jose Area’s Continuing Medical Education (CME) program is to contribute to this goal by providing high-quality, balanced, evidence-based educational activities that will address identified quality or professional practice gaps in our learners. In addition, the KPGSJA CME program strives to maintain, develop, improve the skills, performance, and competence of our learners (Physicians, medical students, allied health care personnel, and other healthcare professionals) and improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.

We expect that our CME activities will ignite the changes in practice, resulting in ongoing improvement in learner’s competence, performance, improve patient outcomes, and reduce the health disparities of our patients. The outcome of our CME activities is assessed with the intent to incorporate new skills, knowledge, self-assessment of change, evaluation of quality, patient satisfaction, and regulatory data, and measures of patient health status improvement.

Overall program analysis is performed annually to evaluate successes and challenges, determine our CME program's effectiveness as a whole, and design, implement and measure improvement processes.
