Kaiser Permanente San Jose CME Mission Statment

Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center, is committed to providing high quality, safe, caring, innovative, equitable, inclusive, affordable and integrated professional medical care to the members and communities we serve.

The mission of Kaiser Permanente San Jose’s Continuing Medical Education (CME) program is to contribute to this goal by delivering educational interventions in a systematic, evidence and consensus-based, concerted effort to optimize clinical practice. We encourage utilizing additional non-CME educational tools that encompass optimal use of medical technology, leadership and development of collaborative, cross-functioning teams. A strong linkage and shared purpose between various stakeholders and inter-professional teams such as Quality, Pharmacy/Therapeutics, Patient Advisor and the CME program monitors for practice gaps and generates effective education for sustained improvements in clinical practice, and the health of our patient population. The shared goal of the inter-professional teams is to deliver high quality, patient-centered, coordinated care and service to our members.

The CME program will be linked to measurable outcomes, including changes in participant knowledge, competence, or practice performance parameters of our learners, and wherever applicable changes in patient outcomes.
