SERIES OBJECTIVES:
  1. Provide current evidence based testing and treatment for patients presenting with infectious disease.
  2. Appropriately respond to patient questions about trends and current topics related to infectious disease in the community.
  3. Recognize infectious disease presentations by visual presentation or constellations of symptoms.
  4. Anticipate emerging infections through updates and review of surveillance trends.
  5. Consider the impact socioeconomic, cultural, and demographic issues have on the treatment, prevalence and spread of infectious disease. 
  6. Provide rationale and evidence in the surgical management of infection disease and co-morbidities affecting the soft tissue and bone structures and its impact on infectious diseases.
