By the end of this CME activity, participants should be better able to:
- Recognize the ethics of medical decision making and the potential for conflict to arise and complicate medical decision making.
- Identify what constitutes an ethical dilemma, when to call an Ethics consultation and what to expect from the referral.
- Improve skills in communicating with patients/families/coworkers about sensitive issues that create conflict.
