80 percent of patients are discharged home the same  day after Orthopedic surgery. Studies show that patients recover quickly and more effectively at home than in the hospital with decreased hospital  acquired complications. The desired outcome is to improve rates of home recovery discharge after Orthopedics

Learning Objectives: As a result of this activity, participants should be able to:

1. Apply same day discharge protocols for patients undergoing Orthopedic surgery.

2. Utilize Osteoporosis Fracture Prevention protocol for patients post-fracture seen in the Orthopedic Department.

3. Apply evidence based and consensus-based best practices for the diagnosis and managing of orthopedic conditions to maximize quality and minimize variation in practice.
